How to upgrade schema for live customer db in production(neo4j enterprise)with minimum downtime

inoder to upgrade schema I want to take backup first and upgrade customer.If upgrade fails I want to restore.What is the best way to do this with min downtime to customer(Consider customer knowlege graph is having utp 60K nodes)
